Keynsham players made a clean sweep of the main prizes in the Grendel 'Hairy'. Chris Baker
scooped the first prize of £30, beating clubmate Tyson Mordue in the final
round; Tyson finished third. Melanie Buckley completed the Keynsham triumph
when she grabbed second place.
This five round blitz, with each round consisting of two five-minute games between the same opponents, had a excellent entry for a cold and wet Monday night; 34 players took part at the Bristol Sports and Social Club. It was a Bristol Grand Prix event, counting as one multiple.
The next event at Grendel will be the Fischerandom on Monday 5th January 1998.
