Dont be fooled by the motion proposing new eligibility rules; these are designed to make it easier for larger clubs like Downend and Clifton. At present if a registered B team player plays for their C team in the same division, they have to be below the grading threshold in the division below that in which the teams play. The proposed changes will allow players 20 to 30 grading points higher than at present to play down as the threshold proposed is for the same division not the next lower. Was this proposal instigated by Downend, Clifton or the LMC which effectively means Downend and Clifton combined ?
