I take on board most of your points, and indeed I did bring up the point about closed congresses at the AGM. It's no secret that something needs to be done, and various possibilities have been suggested, mostly involving including the Bristol championships into an open congress. As regards the schools, I am trying to find something better for the Steve Boniface event, which is supposed to be something a bit special. The schools we like to use are not available during school holidays. The students union is now closed to us because it is too expensive. We always had it free for our closed tournaments, but that is no longer an option.
