What tournament is this for Chris? And how strong do you need the juniors to be? Bristol grammar have Adi Shah (U14) and a couple of weaker players that I could ask.

hmm, there is also the County match Somerset vs. Gloucestershire in Clevedon!!!

Who is Somerset playing in Tiverton? Where do you play? In Blundell's school?

Rats. Do Glos even have a junior county team? I've never seen one so I'm presuming there isn't.

They did in the past. But there is no-one to run it now which is a big shame as there are millions of children playing afterthe success of Chess in Schools.
To Mike: we will be playing in Tiverton High School. The standard is usually keen but not outstanding. Often teh highest graded player will be around 110 but sometimes a county will throw in a really good few guys. Devon, for example, had lots of keen U14s and they were really good. The best was Rob Thompson. I need just one more player!!! Please, if you know of anyone of any standard then let me know. I am on 01761 462277 or cms121@btopenworld.com
thanks

Tom
Actually, Pete is only half right. If they live south of the river they are eligible for Somerset by residence

Actually Chris you are only half right and Pete only 25% right !

Unless the rules have been changed recently, eligibilty can be on the additional bases of a) birth in the county or b) membership of a club in that county and the club is registered with the county association.

Have you tried Mathew Wilson. He plays for Downend but live in Portishead. Is that Somerset?
