Thanks to everyone who attended. It was a very successful day, and we raised about £150 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Special thanks to Graham and Geoff for controlling the event, and to Pete for bullying donations out of people!

I add my thanks to those who took part, donated and/or helped, including John and David for arranging the event. There were 44 players (exactly the same as last year!), and Pete did another brilliant job of organising the prize fund. The prizes were as follows: In both sections, 1st £100, 2nd £60, plus two grading prizes of £30 each.

OPEN

1st - James Cobb (Clifton) 6/6
2nd = Chris Beaumont (Clifton) and Ben Edgell (Bath) 4.5/6

Grading prizes - (U185) Alex Rossiter (Cabot) 3.5/6
(U156) Michael Krueger and Michael Harris (both Horfield) 3/6

MAJOR (U145)

1st = Antony Sage (Bath) and Steve Woolgar (Hanham) 5/6 - Antony was awarded the clock on tie break.

Grading Prizes - (U130) Hugh Price (Cardiff) and David Woodruff (Keynsham) 3/6
(U100) Jonathan and Benjamin Lee (Bristol Juniors) and Jevon Whitby (University) 3/6

For everyones perusal.

The congress raised £146 for the MacMillan Cancer Support.

As well as making a smal surplus as a congress.

Well done all who allowed me to browbeat them to donating more than the £2.

Pete

Treasurer
