The Eight Board League Knockout between Bath & Clifton finished all square 4-4 with Clifton winning on board count.

First to finish was John Waterfield v Greig Sweetland in a Bishop v Pawns ending where John was able to secure a draw by forcing off all the pieces.  Bath then swept into a 3-1 lead after wins by Matthew Payne & Peter Cusick but were pegged back when James Cobb & Gareth Morris converted their advantage into wins to square up things up on the night.  The final game to finish was board two where John Curtis looked to be winning but was low on the clock, after checking whether a draw was sufficient to win the match on board count John sacrificed Rook & Knight for two passed pawns to secure a draw and conclude the evenings play.
