Motion for AGM 2009

 Motion 1.

Election of Officers  -  Composition of the League Management Committee

Seeing that the LMC Posts of ‘Chess Times Editor’ and ‘Tournament Organiser’ are now greatly diminished in their importance, the League Management Committee wishes to remove them from the LMC. This proposal does not restrict the LMC from making appointments to these roles under Rule 2.1.c. whenever the need becomes apparent. (It should be recognised that, while the League itself has contracted by about 50% during the last 25 Years, the committee has grown by a similar amount because new functions have replaced some older ones in importance.)

The LMC proposes the following Amendments:

Amendment to Rules

Rule 2 Management… delete 2.1.a. and replace with

“The LMC shall consist of the following League Officers:

President, Vice-President, Chairman, General Secretary, Match Secretary, Treasurer, Congress Secretary, ECF Representative, Grand Prix Organiser, Junior Organiser, Recruitment and Publicity Officer, Webmaster, and 4NCL Team Manager.”

Rule 1.2.b

Team Subscriptions (Fees)

Delete “…shall be £24 per………….in all other divisions)”

Insert “…shall be £28 per team (for teams in divisions 1, 2, & 3) or £18 per team in all other divisions”
